Today's featured button: UNICEF. To win this button, just leave a comment and I'll pick a winner randomly. Good luck!
United Nations Children's Fund (or UNICEF) was created by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1953, UNICEF became a permanent part of the United Nations System and its name was shortened from the original United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund but it has continued to be known by the popular acronym based on this old name. UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965.

I rarely see this logo anymore...
Nice to see it again here.
nice to see that logo again... haven't seen it for sometime...
Good button for my colection...
I like how the logo has never changed, unlike a certain American clothing company whose name also means a space between two objects...
Hmmm...least comments so far. Maybe the users only want buttons that are ironic and/or hipster cool: like if you put in a head wound, a la The Comedian's happy face in "The Watchmen". Sadly, with the way some countries abuse NGOs, it would indeed be apt.
and the winner (picked from a hat) is... mintonmedia! congrats, and i will email you shortly.
thanks everyone for participating.
Thanx much, JoE. Guess the fact I won this sincere button after posting a rather snarky comment is indeed ironic. Now I have to work on the "hipster cool" part. I know! I'll pin it to a porkpie hat!
One last (deep) thought, courtesy of Jack Handy: "How come the dove gets to be the peace symbol? How about the pillow? It has more feathers than the dove, and it doesn't have that dangerous beak."
